Munich, 19 May 2026 – Alexander Ketterl will become the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) and a member of the RAILPOOL Executive Board effective June 1, 2026. In this role, he will play a key role in shaping the further operational development of the leading rail vehicle leasing company.

His area of responsibility includes all operational aspects related to the ECM-compliant operation of RAILPOOL’s electric locomotive fleet as well as the company’s maintenance facilities. In addition, Alexander Ketterl will assume responsibility for the Digitalization & Information Technology divisions as well as the Project Management Office (PMO).

Alexander Ketterl has more than 25 years of international leadership experience in the rail and mobility industry, with a particular focus on operations, transformation, and performance management. Most recently, as Managing Director of Kiepe Electric, a long-standing subsidiary of Knorr-Bremse AG, he was responsible for the company’s global operational management. His focus there was particularly on profitability, efficiency improvements, portfolio management, and restructuring.

Previously, he headed Bombardier Transportation’s global light rail business at the Vienna and Berlin locations, where he had overall responsibility for development, quality, delivery performance, and global supply chain structures. He further honed his extensive operational leadership experience at DB Cargo AG, where he was responsible for the maintenance and availability of large vehicle fleets across Europe, as well as for extensive transformation and efficiency programs.
