RAILPOOL Group takes further growth step with acquisition of Duisburg-based workshop KTG GmbH
July 5, 2021
- Expansion of own workshop capacities to now three workshop locations
- New service base close to customers at the world’s largest inland port
- Full-service expertise from a single source continues for all rail transport companies and locomotives
Duisburg/Munich, July 5, 2021 – The RAILPOOL Group, one of Europe’s leading rail vehicle leasing companies, is to take over the Duisburg-based workshop KTG GmbH.
With the acquisition of the service site located at the world’s largest inland port in Duisburg, the company is further expanding its own workshop network. RAILPOOL now operates a total of three of its own workshops at the most important cargo hubs in Germany. All three workshops will remain accessible to all customers and locomotives for preventive and corrective services.
“RAILPOOL works every day to provide its customers with the best full service on the market. We are proud of this. We have a functioning and constantly growing partner workshop network and maintain an extensive spare parts warehouse. However, we believe that our own specialist knowledge as well as comprehensive practical expertise on the vehicle are essential for sustained top service quality. We ultimately pass this knowledge on to our partners so that we can also offer our customers the broadest possible service portfolio in their vicinity at partner locations throughout Europe. With the expansion to our third own workshop, we are taking this basic entrepreneurial value into account.” says Torsten Lehnert, CEO of RAILPOOL.
Ingo Wurzer, CFO at RAILPOOL adds: “RAILPOOL enjoys a continuously positive business development and healthy growth. The inclusion of KTG GmbH in the RAILPOOL Group not only marks the strategic expansion with a workshop location at the logistics hub in Duisburg: we also get to integrate more than 10 years of experience, embodied by a qualified and dedicated team, which we warmly welcome.“
Carsten Janneck, who founded the company in 2008, will continue to lead KTG GmbH as Managing Director and explains, “Maximum availability, short downtimes and the highest service quality – that’s what RAILPOOL stands for, that’s what KTG GmbH has stood for for 13 years and that’s what we now stand for together. My staff and I are looking forward to a successful and even more intensive collaboration with our colleagues at Railpool. An almost fully equipped workshop, parking facilities for locomotives and highly motivated service technicians offer our customers a wide range of maintenance options in the heart of the Ruhr region.”
